The Tutwiler Clinic, a non-profit entity was founded in 1983 by Sister
Anne Brooks, D.O. and 3 other Sisters of the Holy Names for the purpose
of providing wholistic health care in Tallahatchie County, located in the
middle of the Mississippi Delta.
The most recent statistics show the median household income in the
County is $18,800, while the US poverty level for a family of 4 is set
at $20,650.
Due to the economic status of this county it is not surprising that over
2/3 of new patients have no Medicare or Medicaid or other 3rd party
health coverage assistance. Therefore, we depend on external
contributions to meet the demand for our growing expenses necessary to
care for the community. 73% of the operating revenue originates through
donations from individual and group donors, bequests and charitable
foundations.
Lend a helping hand! Donate to the Tutwiler Clinic! To contribute to
the cost of an office visit for a patient or to help offset our
expenses, please see our secure and easy to use Pay-Pal donation link
below:
Contributions to the Tutwiler Clinic are deductible for income tax
purposes due to the tax-exempt organization status under Section
501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
See the graph below to view our 07-08 12 month Quarterly expenses.

Many 3rd party payers take several months to reimburse, therefore income from reimbursement can miss the quarterly report.
There are 32 employees with an expenditure of $1,994,626 for 07-08 .
Our per/patient costs are high because we provide medicine to those who can't pay for it and are not eligible for pharmaceutical company assistance. We occasionally pay for necessary tests so the patients pay us only what they can afford.
Your donations can go a long way in assisting in the care of a needy patient!
